Set within the confines of Georgian brick walls, this design was inspired by the walled gardens of Persia and Morocco. With a typical four-part planting layout, this garden celebrates patterns of geometry, symmetry, edibles, and scent to make spaces which pay homage to 16th-century Paradise garden traditions.
The main planting beds take inspiration from Persian orchards. Drifts of the bright green of the Nassella tenuissima are punctuated with lavender, ornamental poppies, bearded irises & Salvias, to provide pops of colour from spring to autumn.
To frame the beds, a series of low-clipped rosemary hedges line the paths and help to give year-round structure as well as fragrance to the garden.
